Julie's ARTCLASS offers classes in Bellevue for young children, teens, and adults. Students will learn the fundamentals of art while experimenting with various media, including graphite, color pencil, acrylics, pastels, pen and watercolor. Most classes start with the instructor guiding them through a drawing, followed by a demonstration of the media to be used. Creativity will be encouraged in a positive and supportive environment. While working on their unique pieces of art, the young artists will develop art skills and self-confidence. Class size is small so that there is time for individual instruction. Supplies included in most classes.

Review of Julie's ARTCLASS, May 24, 2012
Thank you very much for teaching me art. I now have the determination to draw and paint not just what I know, but I can explore different things. Without your help, I might have given up my passion and potential for art, and talents of art would never expand. Again, thank you for teaching of art. Eric Y, age 11. Attended ARTCLASS for 2 years.

Julie coached, encouraged, and inspired my 11 year old son every week for 8 months. My son left each class in a wonderful mood - happy to have learned and created. Julie is that rare combination of talented artist and gifted teacher. Gail of Renton, WA.

Review of Julie's ARTCLASS, "Find the Artist in You" June 20, 2011
Firstly Julie is a very talented teacher. I particularly like that in 2 hours per lesson she manages to equip you with a good understanding of where you can take each medium you are working with, in terms of the variety of techniques you can apply.

She also tends to shatter your misconceptions with encouragement and a real enthusiasm for the subject. She encourages difference and autonomy in her students and at the end of the class its great to see the different interpretations.

In Julie's classes I tried pencil, oil pastels, acrylics, watercolors and ordinary pastels. I can honestly say I enjoyed them all. And I would certainly try all of them again. Julie is also a big fan of mixed mediums and she shows you how this can be applied to create range and depth.

I had dabbled in art since school but I have walked away with a renewed confidence and vigor and I will be applying this back home.

I came here accompanying my husband on business and this was a wonderful opportunity for me to experiment with art without the commitment of buying lots of expensive papers and paints. With Julie's class set up you don't have to provide your equipment which again is great in terms of having to cart everything back to the UK.

I am very proud of my art and ready to build on this and will probably send Julie some samples of my work by email as I know she genuinely cares about my progress. I thoroughly recommend this class and don't think you can put a cost on it in terms of how much you learn while you are there.
